Patient Information

Professor Stanga accepts patients both from the UK and abroad and is open to both insured and self funding patients. You do not need a referral to see Professor Stanga unless required by your insurance company. You can refer yourself or alternatively referrals can be as a result of an emergency, via your GP or optometrist.

Please note Professor Stanga cannot give advice without a prior consultation therefore please do not email any images or test results without contacting us first. In case of any queries please contact our office.

If you are insured please contact your insurance company first to inform them of your intention to see Professor Stanga. Please have your insurance details available as we will require this at the time an appointment is made and, if possible, the authorisation code from your insurance company. Please be advised that some insurance companies do not cover the total cost of your consultation and you will be required to meet any shortfall.

If you are self funding, please be prepared to make a payment to cover the cost of your initial consultation at this stage.

Professor Stanga examines and treats Private Patients at the Spire Manchester Hospital and the Private Patient Centre, at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.

The Spire Manchester Hospital is located on Russell Road, Whalley Range, Manchester M16 8AJ.

The Private Patient Centre is the Private Wing of the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and is located on Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9WH, England, UK.
